We are looking to appoint Principal Small Business Support Officer to join our Small Business Support team at the Managed Workspace business centres, which are located at Greetwell Place and The Terrace, as well as undertaking other duties when required on a 9-month fixed term basis from July 2025 to March 2026.
These facilities provide flexible office space and tenancy management services for businesses and meeting space. The team manages and operates both buildings, being first point of contact for tenants, visitors and users of the complex.
The role will take responsibility for managing the buildings along with the Small Business Support Officers. You will be working 37 hours per week, predominantly working at The Terrace and also at Greetwell Place when required.

Key responsibilities:
– Work under the general direction of the Assistant Director for Growth & Development to develop, manage, monitor and review the Workspace Business Plan and Business Enquiry Service.
– Provide advice to the Assistant Director for Growth & Development on legislation and statutory requirements of developing and delivering the service, and solutions required to address any issues facing the service.
– Deliver the service within the agreed Business Plan budgets.
– Manage the team to achieve the agreed performance standards and ensure effective cross-working and co-operation within and between teams across the wider service area and corporately.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
– Experience of developing, leading and managing effective teams, setting clear objectives, providing constructive feedback and acting as a role model.
– Experience of developing new and creative approaches to service delivery.
– Experience of working with small businesses.
– Ability to demonstrate confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy.
– Experience of managing budgets and delivering to income and expenditure targets.
– Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure to ensure that both deadlines are met and high standards maintained.
– Level 4 qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant area.
