Senior IT Officer

Salary: £36,376 – £38,221

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the IT team providing support to help, diagnose and resolve client problems and manage the core infrastructure. The successful candidates will have an excellent technical understanding of IT and have good communication skills.

The main duties of this post are to support the key infrastructure, servicing approximately 700 service users providing a wide range of public services. You will be required to provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support, always ensuring the security of data. In addition, you will lead on the implementation of major IT projects.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the development and implementation of some new and exciting initiatives together with providing a customer focussed support service.

Key responsibilities:

– To champion business change enabled by ICT throughout the Authority and with partner organisations under the direction of the Principal IT Officer.

– To assist with the developing requirements, procuring and implement new ICT software and hardware provision, ensuring successful delivery and integration into the business.

– To maintain the corporate infrastructure and ensuring the optimisation of ICT service delivery.

– To ensure that the Authority’s electronically held data and information is adequately secured.

– To lead the ICT customer support team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

– Experience of supervising or managing a team / employees.

– Creative and analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Experience of liaison with suppliers, contractors and senior staff.

– Ability to transport oneself around the city.

– Knowledge and understanding of IT and its use in a large organisation.
