Assistant Manager (De Wint Court)

Salary: £25,696 – £27,412 FTE

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the City of Lincoln Council’s Housing & Investment directorate for a permanent member of staff working within our Independent Living team. The role involves working at our extra care housing scheme on Bowden Drive, Lincoln.

You will be working 34 hours per week on a rota basis, covering 08:00 – 21:00 over a seven-day period (shift patterns are 09:00 – 15:30 and 13:00 – 21:00 including regular weekend working).

Successful applicants will have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, provide excellent customer service and be able to work successfully in a team environment as well as alone.

Applicants will need a current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake this within the first 3 months of employment, as well as a qualification in social care or equivalent or the willingness to begin this within the first 12 months.

In addition to the above, you will need 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English, ability to use Microsoft office to ECDL standard or equivalent and experience of working with older people or elderly services.

Key responsibilities:

– Work under the general direction of the Supported Housing Manager to:

1) To contribute to the achievements of the De Wint Court service by providing support and assistance to tenants of the Councils extra care scheme.

2) Refer individuals to other statutory and non-statutory services as appropriate e.g., Adult Social Care, Wellbeing Services, Age UK.

– To ensure that the communal areas of De Wint Court are kept in a safe and comfortable environment for residents and their visitors.

– To support the designated Responsible Officer for the day-to-day safety and management of De Wint Court, its grounds and commercial spaces.
