An exciting opportunity have arisen within the Business Services Team for committed and flexible individuals to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Early Help & Safeguarding service in the Erewash Locality based in Ilkeston.

You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants.  The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines is essential.

  • Post 1 – 18.5 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at Mercian Close, Erewash. Working pattern Monday, Tuesday all day and Wednesday AM.
  • Post 2 – 37 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at Mercian Close, Erewash

What will I be doing:

  • Undertaking a wide variety of administrative tasks.
  • Ability to prepare, coordinate and take minutes at a variety of meetings, including confidential meetings.
  • Coordination of diaries and meetings.
  • Liaising within internal and external families and professionals in person, by telephone and email.
  • Utilising the internal client system and general IT support to colleagues.
  • Financial tasks will include petty cash, debit card holder/charge card holder. Processing invoices and purchase orders, utilising the various internal financial systems following set financial guidance.
  • Coordination, support and assistance to recruitment process of operational staff following HR processes.
  • Dealing with incoming post and monitoring and actioning tasks in the duty mailbox
  • Supporting processes and collection of data around children in care.
  • Providing support with building maintenance and H&S compliance.
  • Reception cover when necessary.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Excellent IT skills, which includes the use of Microsoft packages.
  • An ability to supervise staff
  • An ability to work as part of a team undertaking a wide range of administrative duties.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • An ability to interpret information and analyse data.
  • Assist and support with streamlining processes and implementation
  • An understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection.
  • Previous financial experience would be beneficial.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or relevant office experience.
  • Enthusiasm and transferable skills
