About the Role

Are you organised, approachable, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service?

We’re looking for a Business Services Assistant to provide a friendly, professional reception service and support our busy Facilities Management Team. Based at the heart of our operations, you’ll be the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors—helping to create a welcoming environment while also assisting with a range of facilities-related administrative tasks.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the building, from handling enquiries and supporting health and safety processes to managing bookings and sign-ins.

What will you be doing?

  • Greeting and assisting visitors, staff, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Managing reception duties and acting as the first point of contact for facilities-related queries
  • Answering incoming calls and handling enquiries in line with council policies
  • Supporting the wider Facilities Management team with general admin tasks
  • Monitoring access to the building and supporting health and safety duties including fire evacuation procedures
  • Assisting with room bookings and event support
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with data protection

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with experience in a customer-focused environment and who has:

  • Strong communication skills with a helpful and confident manner
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to stay organised and prioritise tasks
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Confidence to work independently and follow processes

Experience in a reception or facilities setting would be beneficial, but more important is a proactive approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
