This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrician to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. You will play an important role in maintaining and improving council homes across Chesterfield, with work ranging from responsive day-to-day repairs and maintenance to housing refurbishment projects.
You will carry out electrical repairs, fault-finding, installation work, inspections and testing in domestic properties. The successful candidate will therefore need proven experience in these areas and the ability to deliver work safely and to a high standard.
Knowledge of other associated trades, and the ability to work effectively alongside colleagues from different trade disciplines, would be advantageous but is not essential.
The successful applicant will:
Bring a positive, can-do approach and welcome the opportunity to help make our Housing Property Services team even more successful.
• hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, including AM2, or an equivalent qualification
• hold City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 in Inspection and Testing
• hold a BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• ideally, hold Asbestos Awareness or Category B training
• enjoy working independently and as part of a team
• be hardworking, proactive and able to use your initiative
• have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements
• demonstrate excellent people skills and treat residents with care and compassionPrevious experience of working in social housing would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
