An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Housing Service for a Housing Assistant – Statutory Housing to join our customer-focused team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent administrative skills and is committed to delivering high quality services to our residents.

 

About the role

As a Housing Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and customer support to the Statutory Housing teams, helping to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will be the first point of contact for many customers, providing advice and support both in person and via telephone and email, while assisting officers and managers across the service.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • providing administrative and clerical support across the Statutory Housing Service
  • responding to customer enquiries and providing housing-related advice and information
  • maintaining accurate electronic and manual records and filing systems
  • extracting and reporting information to support service monitoring and performance
  • supporting officers and managers with meetings, interviews and general service delivery
  • working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for customers

 

About you

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual who:

  • has excellent customer care and communication skills
  • can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • has experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • is confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • can maintain accurate records and manage information effectively
  • demonstrates a commitment to equality, diversity and excellent public service
  • knowledge of housing services or local authority functions would be advantageous but is not essential
