Closing date: 09 August 2026

Department: Corporate Services and Transformation

Division: Data Protection Team, Education Data Hub, Digital Services

The Education Data Hub is looking to recruit a Data Protection Consultant to support our Data Protection Service for Schools. You will lead and deliver Data Protection Compliance Reviews for Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), working closely with schools and trusts to analyse compliance information, identify areas for improvement and provide practical recommendations to support ongoing compliance.

In this role, you will manage the review process from start to finish, arranging meetings with trust leaders, gathering and analysing information from a range of sources, reviewing compliance documentation and producing detailed reports containing findings, recommendations and practical actions relating to data protection and information governance. This will include reviewing questionnaires, analysing service data, identifying trends and risks, considering emerging developments within the education sector, and ensuring our review processes, templates and guidance materials remain up to date.

Alongside compliance reviews, you will support the wider delivery of the Data Protection Service by responding to helpline enquiries, providing advice and guidance to schools and trusts, and helping our schools to access the most appropriate resources, documentation and training.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of data protection and information governance, excellent analytical and report-writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently. You should be highly organised, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience within the education sector or supporting schools and trusts would be advantageous.

The Education Data Hub is an award‑winning, customer‑focused traded service that brings together Data Protection, Cyber Security, Online Safety, IT for Schools and Data Management services for all educational settings. The team is committed to making a meaningful difference, and this role offers the chance to be part of that.
