SEND Advisory Teacher KS2-KS4

Salary: Soulbury Pay Scale 8-11 £49,878 – £54,166 a year

We are looking for an experienced teacher who has the National Award for SENCOs (or has started the programme) or a teacher with a post graduate qualification in SEND to work as part of the Learning, Inclusion and Skills Directorate supporting Derby schools to meet the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

We want someone who has experience of successfully implementing whole school inclusive approaches and considerable experience teaching, providing support, delivering interventions and training and supporting colleagues to include children with SEND within a junior, primary or secondary school.

The successful applicant will work together with other LA teams and partner organisations to improve the quality of SEND Support in Derby City.

You will support schools in raising the achievement of children and young people with SEND and contribute to the LAs effectiveness in implementing policies, particularly those related to school improvement, raising attainment, meeting the needs and improving the life chances of children with SEND.

You must be able to carry out in-person visits to schools and early years settings in Derby.

You must have excellent written skills and training/ presentation skills.
