Grounds Maintenance Operative (Countryside and Open Spaces)
Grade 2, £24,796 up to £25,185 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, full time, permanent contract
Working as part of a mobile team you will carry out all aspects of grounds maintenance and other conservation and horticultural tasks at a number of sites throughout the borough, working in an outdoor environment all year round.
Duties include:
• General grounds maintenance duties such as digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, tree planting, bulb planting and wildflower meadow preparation and maintenance.
• Use of a variety of hand and power tools and grass cutting machinery.
• Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of countryside conservation work.
• Assisting with external cleaning duties such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins.
A full, valid driving licence is required as the role includes driving council vehicles between sites.
