Are you an experienced Librarian with a passion for collections, reading and community engagement?
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Librarian to join our Community Access Libraries team as Librarian – Stock & Reader Development Lead. This is a key professional role within Living Well Rutland, leading the development of library collections and driving reader development and engagement across Rutland’s four libraries and outreach offer.
Working closely with the Library Team Leader and colleagues across the service, you will help to ensure the library offer is inclusive, engaging and responsive to local need, with a strong focus on reading, learning and community wellbeing.

We are also advertising for a Librarian – Systems & Operations Lead. Candidates are welcome to apply for either or both part-time posts, and we would consider combining the roles into a single full-time post for the right candidate.
Please note:
This role is based at Oakham Library but requires flexible working across all four library sites. A full UK driving licence is required to enable travel between sites. Occasional weekend working may be required.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
The Librarian – Stock & Reader Development Lead interviews will be held face to face on 31 July 2026. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
