Technical Assistant (Private Sector Housing)

Salary: S3 (£26,020 – £26,077)
Location: Lincoln

We are looking for a Technical Assistant to join the Private Sector Housing Team.

If you are passionate about improving people’s health and wellbeing and your first priority is the resident before the building, then this is your chance to join a team that is committed to tackling some of the roots of poor physical and mental health by working with residents and improving homes.

You will take an administration role in improving residents’ homes and communities to help them live in a safe, sustainable home that works for them. This includes assisting the team in investigating complaints, inspecting houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), licensing those that need it and taking enforcement action.

Key responsibilities:

1) To manage the office activities for the Private Sector Housing Team including:

– To be the first point of contact for all customer enquiries providing a high quality and professional customer experience to the users of the service;

– To provide a support service to the team by developing and providing a full administrative service to support team members in fulfilling their roles effectively and efficiently;

– Liaising with the Systems & Information Team and IT Services to ensure that the computerised and non-computerised systems provide the required level of support; and

– To undertake assessments of resources in respect of applications for housing assistance.

2) Provide advice to the Team Leader on day-to-day operational issues/service solutions.

3) Provide support to the team for the purposes of monitoring performance standards, meeting financial targets, prioritising workloads and ensuring effective cross-working and co-operation across the wider service area.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

– Experience of developing new and creative approaches to service delivery.

– Experience of working with customers in the private sector.

– Ability to be structured, logical and objective in approach to work.

– Ability to monitor budgets effectively.

– Experience of working independently and using own initiative with tasks and be able to work as part of a team.

– GCSE Level C or equivalent in Maths and English.
