We are committed to ensuring our services are delivered to the highest possible standard and we put the customer at the forefront of everything we do. By working for us you will become part of the team and will play your part in serving our community.
We are currently recruiting for a Choice Based Lettings Officer to join our Housing Solutions Team. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity working 18.5 hours per week within a dynamic and customer-focused service committed to preventing homelessness and helping residents access suitable housing solutions.
As a Choice Based Lettings Officer, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient and responsive housing allocations service. You will assess housing applications, manage the housing register, provide advice and support to customers, and ensure properties are allocated fairly and in accordance with legislation, policy and local procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills, a passion for housing, and a commitment to making a positive difference in local communities.
We are looking for a motivated, resilient and customer-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working with the public in a housing or customer service environment. You will be confident managing a varied workload, making informed decisions and building effective relationships with customers, colleagues, landlords and partner agencies.
In this role, you will deliver an effective, efficient and sensitive Choice Based Lettings service, helping residents access suitable housing and supporting the wider aims of the Housing Solutions Team, including the prevention of homelessness.
You will assess housing applications, verify applicants’ housing circumstances and support needs, undertake occasional home visits where required, and determine eligibility for the housing register in accordance with the Council’s Allocations Policy. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Choice Based Lettings scheme, ensuring properties are advertised and allocated fairly and efficiently.
Working closely with partner landlords, housing providers and external agencies, you will provide high-quality advice and support to customers, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
This is a busy and rewarding role working with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. If you have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and helping people access suitable housing solutions, we encourage you to review the Job Description and apply.
