About you…
Are you a newly qualified or developing Occupational Therapist who wants to make a genuine difference in people’s lives? Join our friendly Therapy Services team and help adults in Rutland regain confidence, independence and control in their everyday routines.
This is a great opportunity to build your practice in a supportive Adult Social Care environment, working across hospital discharge, community reablement and prevention-focused support.
What we expect:
• Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and the Care Act 2014.
• Hold a full driving license and be able to get to home visits across Rutland.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid pattern, including being office-based for at least 2 days per week for full-time staff (can be up to 5 days a week if the service requires).
• Able to identify and prioritise urgent work, responding appropriately to reduce immediate risks to clients.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to try new ways of working. We can support you to build the role-specific skills; the most important factor is having the right aptitude.
• Able to progress cases in a timely and proportionate way, depending on complexity.
• Able to work one Saturday in every four weeks on a rota basis.
• Willing to develop your skills to be able to supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• The ability to work flexibly, manage competing priorities and respond positively to change, demonstrating emotional resilience.
About the role…
As an Occupational Therapist, you will complete holistic, strength-based assessments and create practical reablement plans that focus on what matters most to each person. You will recommend equipment and adaptations, support safe moving and handling solutions, and work with people, carers and colleagues to reduce risk, improve confidence and promote independence through goal setting.

• Monthly CPD opportunities (a 50/50 mix of adult social care CPD and occupational therapy-specific CPD).
• Access to fleet vehicles from our Catmose site (subject to availability).
• You will work in a varied role where no two days are the same, from Reablement planning, to equipment, adaptations and moving and handling assessments.
• £3,000 market supplement (pro rata, subject to contract conditions).
• Daily drop-in sessions with senior OTs you can always reach someone for clinical support.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS and HCPC registration are paid by us.
The Occupational Therapist interviews will be held face to face on 27 August 2026.
