Derbyshire County Council
We are looking for a skilled, motivated and compassionate Parenting Assessor to join our Child Protection Parenting Assessment Service.
As a Parenting Assessor, you will undertake high-quality parenting assessments using the East Midlands Parenting Assessment Framework, providing robust analysis of parenting strengths, areas for development, and the impact on children’s safety, wellbeing and development. You will work directly with children, parents and carers, building positive relationships while offering both support and respectful challenge to promote meaningful and sustainable change.
This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same. You will work alongside social workers, health professionals, education providers, police and other partner agencies to gather information, assess risk, and contribute to planning that delivers the best possible outcomes for children and young people. You will be responsible for producing clear, evidence-based assessments, reports and recommendations that may be used within multi-agency and legal processes.
We are seeking someone with experience of working with children, young people and families, strong assessment and analytical skills, and a sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management and child-focused practice. You will be confident engaging families who may be resistant to support, and able to identify strengths, barriers and capacity for change.
We’re always pleased to hear from talented people so if you’re looking to join a dynamic team and have the skills and experience, we’re looking for, then we’d like to hear from you.
