An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Family Help Team, Children’s Services Department for a dynamic and committed individual to provide direct and practical support to children and families with a wide range of complex and often challenging needs.
Responsibilities of the role of a Parenting Assessor include:
- Follow the East Midlands Parenting Assessment Framework Guidance to undertake high quality and timely parenting assessments which promote positive outcomes for children.
- Assist families to change, including those who are resistant to engage, through both support and respectful challenge.
- Ensure a continuous and consistent implementation of relevant safeguarding procedures, polices, legislation and emerging themes learned from serious case reviews to protect children and young people and ensure their safety.
- Provide accurate, detailed and timely records and reports for a range of meetings which could be multi-agency, specialist or legal.
- Awareness of relevant statutory guidance and the DDSCP Threshold guidance and be responsible for adhering to its content for the purpose of delivering a quality service and improving outcomes.
- Build and sustain relationships with partner agencies in order to effectively connect families to appropriate support.
What skills, qualifications and experience do you need to have:
- Be enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Have experience of working with children and families
- Able to problem solve and proactively work with others.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of and implementation of safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent IT skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
