Relief Caretaker

White Hall Outdoor Education Centre is seeking a reliable and dedicated relief caretaker to join our facilities team. As a Grade 4 Relief Caretaker, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our centre, ensuring a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and young people.

Responsibilities:

  • – Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas within the Centre, including accommodation, and communal spaces.
  • – Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to maintain the safety and functionality of the premises.
  • – Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any stock shortages.
  • – Support the setup and takedown of equipment for activities and events.
  • – Assist with site security, including opening and locking buildings and monitoring access.
  • – Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any hazards or incidents.
  • – Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the smooth running of the centre.
  • – Participate in evening and weekend duties as required.

Requirements:

  • – Experience in caretaking, cleaning, or facilities maintenance.
  • – Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • – Ability to carry out manual tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
  • – Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • – Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • – Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
