The Professional Services – Highway Design team at Derbyshire County Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clerk of Works to assist the delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 construction projects.
As a Clerk of Works, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that highway development works comply with approved designs, regulations and quality standards. You will supervise works on site and liaise with developers, contractors and internal teams to maintain high construction standards across the county.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with:
Experience in highway construction, particularly within Section 278 & Section 38 agreements.
A thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with contractors, developers, and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to make critical decisions on-site.
A commitment to upholding health & safety standards and ensuring best practices are followed.
