High Peak South Adult Social Work Team, Buxton Full Time – 37 hours per week

The High Peak South Adult Social Work Team, based in Buxton, is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our friendly, supportive community-based team of Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners and Community Connectors.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

Our team operates across the High Peak area of Derbyshire using a flexible and largely agile approach to working. We utilise link worker and champion roles to support the delivery of Care Act 2014 assessments and reviews through both face-to-face and telephone-based interventions.

As a Social Worker within our team, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of autonomy, professional accountability and effective case management. Timely recording of interventions and the ability to progress work efficiently are essential.

You will work closely with a range of partner agencies including Health services, the Police, Housing providers and private, voluntary and independent sector organisations. Building positive professional relationships, identifying opportunities for signposting and supporting carers are key elements of the role. What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Manage a complex caseload effectively and safely.
• Be registered with Social Work England
• Complete assessments and reviews in line with the Care Act 2014.
• Demonstrate sound professional judgement and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with partner organisations and community resources.
• Promote a safety of service users through the use of Safeguarding processes and protocols 
• Promote independence and strengths-based practice.
• Meet statutory duties in an accountable and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recording.

The role also includes participation in Duty cover. You will need to respond effectively to changing circumstances, triage incoming work and assess urgency to ensure adults and carers receive the appropriate level of support.

Desirable Experience

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• Leading Section 42 Safeguarding enquiries.
• Chairing multi-agency meetings, including Multi-Agency Adult Risk Management (MARM) meetings.
• Completing Mental Capacity Act 2005 assessments.
• Facilitating Best Interest meetings.
• Court of Protection Deprivation of Liberty (COP DoL) applications.
• Court work.

A comprehensive induction programme, ongoing support and training will be provided to help develop skills in these areas.
