Trading Standards Officer
Matlock/Hybrid
Full Time, (Part-Time Hours considered)
Grade 11- £38,629 – £41,928 per annum – plus market leading package (see below)
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join our Trading Standards service.
Our Trading Standards service supports local businesses and helps consumers by tackling unfair and unsafe trading practices through enforcement, advice, and education to ensure that businesses operating in Derbyshire comply with trading standards legislation.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to join and help deliver this service. The successful candidate will be working in our Food, Feed, Weights and Measures and Animal Health Team. You will preferably hold a statutory weights and measures qualification, be able to demonstrate competency (and be qualified where required) to enforce food or feed law and/or will have experience within animal health and welfare. However, applications from Trading Standards Officers with experience across other areas of Trading Standards law are welcome.
You will be joining a supportive and flexible team of professionals and have managers who are supportive to facilitate your development.

The role is full time, but we will also consider applications from those seeking to work on a part-time basis. The Trading Standards Team are based at Matlock, but as part of our Modern Ways of Working programme, we are currently working on a hybrid basis. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
