Part Time: 29.6 hours per week

Do you love bringing order to busy projects, connecting people, and making sure the details are spot on? Join our Growth & Economic Prosperity team and help deliver work that supports businesses, boosts inward investment, and improves employment and skills opportunities for residents across the district.

About the role

As Project Support Officer, you’ll provide effective administration and project support across our Economic Development and Employment & Skills activity. You’ll be a key point of contact for enquiries, help coordinate communications and events, and support monitoring and evaluation—making sure projects run smoothly and partners and stakeholders stay engaged.

What you’ll be doing

Support the development and delivery of Economic Development (ED) and Employment & Skills (ES) projects, including stakeholder engagement, communications, event coordination, and project administration, monitoring and evaluation.
Collate, analyse and report on engagement from marketing activity, inward investment work, and education/labour market data to inform service delivery.
Maintain accurate records of external services and provision for businesses and residents, helping the team signpost effectively.
Support the Development & Marketing Officer to keep service webpages and social media up to date and engaging.
Act as a first point of contact for ED enquiries, referring to the appropriate officer and assisting with proposals on available support.
Provide secretariat support for relevant boards, groups and task-and-finish activity (agendas, minutes, actions, coordination).
Provide support to in-person services within relevant commercial/education buildings as required, and support town centre activity (including occasional weekend working).
Contribute to the wider work of the Council, with a focus on priorities in the Council Plan, Vision 2040, the Growth Strategy and delivery plans.
What we’re looking for

You’ll be organised, proactive and confident working with a range of colleagues and partners. You’ll be comfortable juggling competing priorities, handling enquiries professionally, and working accurately with data, records and reports. If you enjoy making things happen behind the scenes—and want your work to contribute to real outcomes for people and businesses—this could be a great fit.
